Powdered sugar, also called icing sugar or confectioners' sugar, is ultra-fine milled refined white sugar with an anti-caking agent. We offer multiple mesh grades: 6X (medium-fine, 95% passes 200 mesh/75 microns), 10X (fine, 95% passes 325 mesh/44 microns), and 12X (extra-fine). Finer grades dissolve faster and produce smoother icings, glazes, and coatings.
What anti-caking agent is used in Thai powdered sugar?
We use tricalcium phosphate (TCP) as the anti-caking agent at a maximum level of 3% by weight. This is the most common food-grade anti-caking agent used globally, approved by FDA, EU food safety regulations, and Codex Alimentarius. Starch-based (corn or tapioca starch) anti-caking agent versions are available on request for markets that prefer non-phosphate additives.
